Natalie was steadily walking down a dirt path, backpack over shoulder, while the sun was gradually setting. The sky was painted a bloody red mixed with a lemony yellow, she sighed and leaned against a tall oak. Natalie put her hands on her face and her pack fell to the ground, the past few weeks had really taken a toll on her. " I really gotta get my act together." Ever since she set out on her own, away from her abusive home, she'd been on the run. Her uncle was on the lookout for her and she always just barely escapes. She reached into her bag and pulled out a poke ball, she let her Umbreon out. Natalie had let Shadow rest for a little while, she'd had it rough too. Of course, she didn't have any problem with food or staying clean, but that's life right? So here's to a new beginning.

The delicate colors of sunset stained the sky with gentle strokes that looked to have come off the pain brush of an experienced artist. Faded colors of vibrant blood red dappled the once blue sky as more hues intertwined with the pattern of sunset. A dab of serene orange swirled around upon the canvas that was the heavens above, and with that orange came along the fragile strands of the color known as indigo. Night was starting to push against the world. The sun and moon were bickering over the heavenly throne once more, but all knew who would win this battle. The moon. It was time for night to reign, time for the creatures of nocturne to come out and play. The shadows were growing, the darkness approaching. It would not be long before total darkness enveloped the land.

Not many would be out at this time, unless, of course, they were Pokemon trainers who were intrigued by the night or were out training nocturnal Pokemon such as Noctowls or Umbreons. Most, however, would have found a refuge to take shelter in by now - a Pokemon Center with the lovely Nurse Joy or some scenario such as that; perhaps a relative's house that lived not too far from the path that trainer had been taken. For some, they were out in the darkness for other reasons, some reasons that were best to not be explained. Night was a mysterious time for most, and those most entranced would wrap their souls into the tendril of the night.

There was one such soul that dared to step out into the midst of the descending twilight, her steps almost hushed and silent. From her poise, the motion in which she walked upon the dirt path, she was a more experienced Pokemon trainer, harboring stealth and a gait that was fluid and almost liquid like in motion. The female carried a slim figure, one that most Pokemon trainers of experienced years more than likely held as they had to be swift on their feet and turned in with their body. Falling from her scalp was wavy, long blonde hair that was light in tone. She was also quite tall, perhaps not the tallest, but from some standpoint, she was a tall and slim female, not stubby or 'fun size' as some like to call it. And also to go with the rest of her appearance, if one could catch a glimpse of the front, one would see the icy blue eyes that the female sported as well. There wasn't much to her, just a simply and plain look of an everyday Pokemon trainer.

The female - her name being Ana - had a most peculiar Pokemon following along after her in the silence of the dimming light. It wasn't that the Pokemon was a legendary or anything, it was just that not many people would be seen with one out of the Pokeball. What Pokemon was it? A male Ninetails that had been affectionately nicknamed Wyvern. Ana and Wyvern had a long and shared history that went all the way back before Ana's Pokemon training days, and the two were awfully close. Though Ana dearly loved Wyvern and his ways, she had yet to be satisfied with the collection of Pokemon she had collected over the years of being a trainer. She was seeking once such Pokemon that was said to be only of myth and legend...

As she went about her way, a lone growl escaped from the closed maw of Wyvern, his creamy pelt bristling somewhat around the hackles. Swiveling her head to look at the Ninetails, Ana slowly parted her lips and asked, "What is it, boy?" Though the Ninetails could not speak, his body language was something Ana knew how to read better than a book. Wyvern had spotted something, and that something was another Pokemon and its trainer... Wyvern, with his enhanced senses, knew that just beyond a few steps, an Umbreon and female trainer were walking down the same path as well.

As he followed the girls with his partner, he thought of how his meeting them would go. Would he stop and have a cup of tea? Or battle till the death? That was yet unknown for both the girls and the young man. He had his moon ball at hand, awaiting the perfect moment to strike, but where would he reside till the perfect moment.

Shadow curled up against Natalie's leg, Natalie looked up into the now night sky. The moon had won her own battle, till morning anyways then the sun would reign again. She again reached into her pack and pulled out the last of her supplies. It'd be too risky tonight to light a fire, since creatures unknown were lurking about. Natalie took a bite of what little venison she had left and gave the rest to Shadow. Off in the distance she thought she heard some rustling, then got the chilled feeling she was being watched. Natalie stood up and decided to back a tiny bit further into the woods, she had Shadow to protect her. She reached into her pack once more and grabbed out her sleeping pad and fell into a somewhat dreamless sleep.

As he awoke he noticed she had disappeared from his site. He went out to see Where she might have Fled to in Search and hope of finding her.
